The main deity of the temple is Shiva in Linga form named Konabiran, goddess KathuntharKulali amman. This temple is located on the southern bank of river Cavery. The temple is located on Nagappatinam to Nannilam bus route, towards 25 kms west to Nagappatinam, 10 Kms from Nannilam, 25 kms from Thiruvarur. Frequent bus facility is available from Kumbakonam, Nagappatinam and Thiruvarur.
